We've been creating

This second post has been a long time coming.  We're back to healthy eating and we've been creating.  A healthy snack each afternoon for when Darren gets home from work and healthy and yummy dinners, like these

Recipe's will follow when I get them down!

Our little guy has also been sick with Hand, Foot and mouth disease. Lucky his Dad was home during most of his sickness and they had some fun chillin' on the couch watching the tennis and eating puffs

Getting back to it

So this is the beginning of my blog.  I hope to be able to post regular updates with the happenings in our part of the world.  Most of my posts will be about our little family, the highs and lows of living about 3 hrs away from friends and other family members and our experiences and learning along the way.  I LOVE photographs and am trying to improve my skills in taking them.  A course in definitely in order sometime, but for now I'll try to post a few each time and continue my self taught improvements.  Lets face it sometimes the most interesting thing about blogs is the photos so I'm going to try and post a lot!

I also hope to be able to post about my cooking on a regular basis.   I had been feeling very uninspired in the last few weeks, (since Christmas really) and I had a complete rebellion about protein. Umm . .  that is, I barely cooked with any and we fell down on our usual healthy eating over the Christmas period.  As a result both Darren and I felt less than our best and Leo wasn't getting enough protein either.

So, I'm back into it, inspired by feeling tired and fat and also from a visit to our homeopath who advised that Darren still wasn't 100% since his glandular fever earlier this year.

Ok, the little boy just woke up so more on our new found eating inspiration soon.

This is my boy, looking sleepy:

He's just recently become interested in his 'bears' and the favourite is a 'cat bear' which we weren't sure about but has grown on us, probably due to it being Leo's favourite.  We all think he's really sweet now.  Mowe Bear (pronounced to rhyme with owe) gets kissed a lot and occasionally carried around.  Before his sleep today Leo asked for his bear and so he went to sleep cuddling mummy and mowe bear and breastfeeding.  How lovely, warm milk to go to sleep with.  He always wakes up happy as he's never had any sleep trauma.  Today he made a little sound when he wiggled and woke and I walked in the door to a big grin, a cuddle and a request for 'bear' as he had ended up on the other side of Leo.  Bear got a cuddle too, we went outside for a post sleep wee in the garden and we're on our way for the rest of the day.

I'm off to play with my boy, more soon.

and more photos soon.  Only one today, oops!
